St. Mary's Young Named Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Swimming weekly award winners on Monday, as St. Mary’s Emerson Young was awarded the Swimmer of the Week award. 

Swimmer of the Week: Emerson Young
School: St. Mary’s College of Maryland
Class: Junior
Hometown: Bel Air, Md.
High School: Harford Technical
Brief Outlook of Week: Young guided the Seahawks to a 2-1 record on Saturday. Young captured the 50-backstroke (28.33) and the 100-freestyle (54.96) while leading off the second-place 200-medley relay (1:44.80) and the third-place 200-freestyle relay (1:58.62) as St. Mary's College beat Southern Virginia (133-129) and Stevenson (133-129) while dropping a 146-116 decision to Bridgewater (Va.). 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Annabelle Tarrant, Marymount: First-year earned three individual first-place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:03.29), 200-yard freestyle (2:01.39), and 200-yard breaststroke (2:40.48), in addition to contributing to a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Her 1000 freestyle ranking as the second-fastest time in Atlantic East Conference history.
