St. Mary's Miller Tabbed as Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Swimming weekly award winners on Monday, as St. Mary’s Kelsie Miller was awarded the Swimmer of the Week award.

Class: Junior
Hometown: Potomac, Md.
High School: Winston Churchill
Brief Outlook of Week: Miller led the Seahawks to a 2-1 opening weekend. Miller began with a pair of first-place finishes at Randolph-Macon, touching the wall first in the 200 butterfly (2:17.96) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.19). She also swam the third leg on the second-place 200 freestyle relay (1:44.04) and led off the fourth-place 200 medley relay (2:00.13). Miller went undefeated in the 200 butterfly across the weekend as she took first (2:18.27) at a double dual meet with host Randolph and Virginia Wesleyan. She also led off the victorious 200 freestyle relay (1:48.56) and the second-place 200 medley relay (1:40.52).


Weekly Honor Roll:
Ashley Batejan, Immaculata: Batejan continued her dominant start to the season with four individual victories across the two meets. She swept the 50-yard freestyle (27.39), 100-yard backstroke (1:07.44), and 50-yard butterfly (29.79) vs Elizabethtown and Goucher. The sophomore then added another win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.44) against Moravian while contributing to the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay (4:09.29). 
 

Camila Gil, Marywood: Gil won six individual races to open the women's swimming season. She swam a personal best of 29.15 seconds in the 50 fly in a victory against Delhi. Gil swept the 50 and 100 breast swims against the Broncos. In a tri-meet against Wilkes and King's., she won with season-bests of 34.6 seconds in the 50 breast and 1:15.03 in the 100 breast. At the Hartwick relays, Gil swam a 75-yard free leadoff split of 1:18.97.
