Marywood Field Hockey Set to Face Wesleyan (CT) in NCAA Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Marywood field hockey team was part of the 28-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship Tournament, as announced by the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Committee Sunday night.
 
This is the Pacer's second-consecutive year making the tournament, as they are set to face off against Wesleyan (CT) in first-round action Wednesday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m. in Wesleyan's Hicks Field.

Marywood (11-9) won the Atlantic East title, recording a 3-0 win against Neumann, to earn the conference's automatic bid to the tournament. This is the Pacers' second appearance in the tournament since 2019, having lost 6-0 to #5 Johns Hopkins last year, after a hard fought loss to FDU-Florham, 1-0, in 2019. Dariane Jones, the 2025 Atlantic East Tournament MVP, will lead the attacking charge for the Pacers.

Wesleyan (14-4) is making its second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals are 1-1 all time in the tournament, having won its opening round matchup against #22 Ithaca by a score of 2-0 before bowing out in the second round to #4 Williams, 3-2. 

The winner of the Wesleyan-Marywood game will travel to Wellesley, Mass., and will face the winner of SUNY Geneseo (21-1) and Hamilton (11-5) on Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m.. Host and top-ranked Babson (20-1) will take on the winner of Bowdoin (9-7) and Scranton (17-3). Saturday's winners will meet on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. game, fighting for the right to go to the Final Four, taking place in Hartford, Conn. The semifinals will take place on Friday, November 21 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., followed by the Championship game on Sunday, November 23 at 12:00 p.m.
