HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Jefferson Lopez Coreas was named Player of the Week and Neumann’s AJ Henry was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Jefferson Lopez Coreas
School: Marymount
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Woodbridge, Va.
High School: Gar-Field
Brief Outlook of Week: Kicking off conference play with a demanding win, Lopez Coreas tied the program record for points in a single game, securing eight total points. The sophomore tallied three goals and two assists in the 6-0 win, securing his second hat trick of the season. He assisted on the opening goal just eight minutes into the game before scoring the third, fourth and fifth goals.

 

Defensive Player of the Week: AJ Henry
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Swedesboro, N.J.
High School: Kingsway
Brief Outlook of Week:  Henry made four saves as Neuman opened conference action with a 1-0 win over Marywood, in the Knights lone game of the week. The senior two saves in both halves, guiding the Knights to a strong win.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:

Christian Bonilla, Marymount: Bonilla, primarily on the back line for the Saints, secured his first career goal, the eventual game-winner, in Saturday's 6-0 win over Pratt. He also played a strong role in helping secure the shutout.

Victor John, Neumann:  John scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Marywood as Neumann opened conference action. The junior's first goal of the season came in the 82nd minute, breaking the scoreless game and proving to be the game winner.

Andrew Gonzalez, Saint Elizabeth: Gonzalez played the full 90 minutes for the Eagles against Gwynedd Mercy, making six key saves, with multiple being in one-on-one and two-on-one  situations.

Axel Garay, Saint Elizabeth:  Only recording five  minutes of action, Garay made the most of it. The freshman would score the game winning goal in the dying seconds of the match to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory over the Griffins.
