LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2024 Women's Track & Field Major Award Winners and All-Conference teams on Wednesday afternoon as Marywood, Marymount, and Neumann earned major awards.

Marywood's Lany Straub  was named Track Athlete of the Year after earning a two gold, one silvers, one bronze and a fifth place finish in the two-day meet. Her golds came as the repeat champion in the 3000 steeple (11:58.38) and the 10,000m (39:45.01). she followed that up with a silver in the 5000m (18:49.48), bronze in the 1500m (5:06.87), and a fifth-place finish in the 800m (2:42.06). Her steeple and 10,000m times set new championship records. She finished under the championship meet record in the 5000m run just .05 behind the top finisher.

Marymount's Deziree Conklin-Boone was named Field Athlete of the Year. The junior continued her impressive career highlighted by a conference championship record of 11.82m in the triple jump. This went along with a first-place finish of 5.29m in the long jump to earn gold. Conklin-Boone also participated in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles where she earned championship records at 15.10 and 1:06.94 respectively.

Rookie of the year honors went to Isabella Rivera of Marymount. In her first showing at an Atlantic East Championship Rivera took home three gold medals across the two-day meet.  In shot put the rookie threw for 10.45m on her way to three medals. She followed that up with a discus throw of 33.94m and a hammer toss of 35.77m.

Neumann University claimed the Coaching Staff of the Year accolade after leading their team to an impressive showing and conference championships. The Knights are led by Chris Simpson and assisted by Lorielle Laforest and volunteer coach Lauren Deas.

Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for men's track & field, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Hayley Gaines of Marywood. Gaines member the conference runner-up Marywood team, maintains a cumulative 3.95 GPA while majoring in Interior Architecture.
