Marymount's Leitzel and Lencz Sweep Baseball Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Bobby Leitzel and Braeden Lencz sweep Player and Pitcher of the Week honors.

Player of the Week:

Brief Outlook of Week: Senior Bobby Leitzel was a force at the plate during the Saints' 3-0 week, including a doubleheader sweep in the opening contests of their stint in Florida. Batting .500, 5-for-10, across three games, the shortstop knocked a triple and a home run, driving in six RBI out of the leadoff spot. He raised his average to .375 thus far on the season.

Hometown: Marathon City, Wis.

Brief Outlook of Week:  Sophomore southpaw Braeden Lencz continued to dominate in the early going of the season on the mound. Pushing his record to 3-0 overall in three starts, he went 6.0 innings on the mound for the Saints, allowing no earned runs, only two hits, while striking out seven. He lowered his ERA to 2.08 through 17.1 innings pitched.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Frank Ebling (Sr., Pitcher/Utility, Gwynedd Mercy): Ebling earned his second straight win with five strikeouts and seven scoreless innings versus Rosemont. He only allowed five Ravens on base with four hits and a walk. He also went 1-for-4 with a three-run double in a loss to Rutgers-Camden.

Joseph Frei (Fy., Outfielder, Centenary): Frei posted a great opening weekend for the Cyclones. The first year went 3-for-4 on the weekend with one run, and four RBIs including a walk off single against Keuka.

Dustin Sutton (Gr., Outfielder, Cabrini): During Cabrini's four game trip in Myrtle, the Cavaliers' leadoff hitter recorded 5 hits and 5 walks, crossing the plate 8 times in total. He'd add a double, a triple, a homerun, and 3 stolen bases during the week. Defensively, Sutton maintained his perfect fielding percentage as he'd record 8 putouts in center field.

Joey Wright (Sr., First Base, Immaculata): Wright went a combined 9-for-23 (.391) with four runs scored, seven RBIs, a double, a triple, two home runs, and a stolen base over five games this week. He went 2-for-4 with one runs scored, and three RBIs in Immaculata's win over Delaware Valley on February 27th. He went 2-for-5 with a run scored, a triple and a home run in Immaculata's win over Kean on February 29th. He went 3-for-5 with a run scored, three RBIs, and a home run vs Wittenburg on March 3rd.
