Marymount wins 2024 Women's Cross Country title

MILTON, N.Y. – Marymount University captured the 2024 Atlantic East Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday, finishing with a low team score of 35.
 
It is the first team title for the Saints in women’s cross country, as Marywood had won the last five.
 
Marywood and Immaculata finished in a tie for second with 56 points, with Marywood winning second on the tiebreaker as its sixth runner finished 21st. Pratt Institute was fourth with 103 points, followed by Neumann in fifth at 125 and Centenary in sixth at 142.
 
Avery Finnegan from Marymount won the race with a time of 24:48.5, followed by Aubrey Donahue from Immaculata in second at 24:54.6. Brier Amerlinck from Marymount was third with a time of 25:24.3, followed by Paige Redman from Marywood in fourth at 26:00.0.
 
Hannah Betchyk from Neumann was fifth with a time of 26:13.9, followed by Mikayla Stephens from Marymount in sixth at 26:59.8 and Jayla Gross from Immaculata in seventh at 27:01.5. All seven finished first team All-Conference.
 
Second-team All-Conference went to finishers eight through 14. Gabrielle Snee from Marywood was eighth with a time of 27:08.2, followed by Jaqueline Leone from Immaculata in ninth 27:19.9, Bella Achenbach from Marywood in tenth at 27:25.2, Gabrielle Weirsky from Marymount in 11th at 27:48.6, McKenna Kerry from Centenary in 12th at 27:50.7, Giovanna Lisa in 13th from Pratt at 27:55.6 and Madeleine Pare from Marymount in 14th at 27:58.0.
 
Teams will now get set for the NCAA regional meet in two weeks.
