LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending on September 17
th. Player of the Week honors go to Immaculata’s Rachel McNamee, while Gwynedd Mercy’s Natalie Gablein was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Player of the Week:
Name: Rachel McNamee
School: Immaculata

Brief Outlook of Week: On Thursday, September 14th scored Immaculata’s first goal vs Delaware Valley on a penalty kick. She earned the penalty kick when she was fouled, then converted the penalty. On Saturday, September 16th led the Mighty Macs to their first win of the season with a goal and an assist. She assisted on Immaculata’s first goal playing a pass that her teammate was able to convert in the sixth minute of the match. She scored Immaculata’s second goal in the second half that provided the Macs their margin of victory.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Natalie Gablein
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Sophomore
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School: Archbishop Wood
Brief Outlook of Week: Gablein earned a shutout in the Griffins' 1-0 victory at Rosemont. In her only game in net on the week she tallied three saves for the clean sheet victory.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Layne Kaufman (So., Goalkeeper, Marymount): Kaufman started in four matches for he saints last week in goal. The sophomore put up two shutouts while punching away five saves across all games.
Allina Mbuko (Jr., Forward, Marymount) - Mbuko helped the Saints to their first win of the season last week against Notre Dame (Md.). The junior tallied a goal and an assist in the effort.
