Gwynedd Mercy's Semenovykh and Centenary’s Ferfecki Named Women's Soccer Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending on September 4th. Player of the Week honors go to Ksenia Semenovykh, while Centenary’s Ferfecki was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Semenovykh scored in both games of an opening 1-1 week. She scored the fifth goal of a 5-0 Gwynedd Mercy University win at Penn State Brandywine and the only Griffin goal of a 5-1 loss at Delaware Valley.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Emma Ferfecki
School: Centenary

Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Belvidere, N.J.
High School: Belvidere
Brief Outlook of Week: Ferfecki led the Cyclones to a 0-0-1 record over opening weekend. The junior tallied five saves in a tie with William Paterson.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Ebony Arvelo (Fy., Forward, Neumann): Arvelo scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Keystone as Neumann opened the season 1-1. She scored the second and third goals of the game in the 31st and 69th minutes.

Caroline Hassall (Jr., Goalkeeper, Cabrini): Hassall led the strong defense for the Cavaliers as they shutout Bryn Mawr to open the season.
