Marywood's Sorce and Talarico Sweep Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Monday for the week ending on September 10th. Player of the Week honors go to Marywood's Josephine Sorce, while teammate Victoria Talarico was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Sorce scored a pair of goals in a 3-0 victory over Eastern. She put in her first on a well-delivered pass from Kate Kollar-Dye from 15 yards out. Sorce secured her first brace since 2021 when she perfectly executed a free kick chance from 25 yards out. Earlier in the week, she kept the Pacers in contention late into the game of a 4-1 loss to No. 15 Scranton.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Victoria Talarico
School: Marywood
Class: Junior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Quincy, Mass.
High School: North Quincy
Brief Outlook of Week: Joining the team on Wednesday, Talarico made eight saves in a 1-1 week in net. Talarico played for the first time in two seasons by stopping seven shots to keep the Pacers within a goal late against No. 16 Scranton. She earned a clean sheet with one save against Eastern.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Ksenia Semenovykh (Fy., Forward, Gwynedd Mercy): Semenovykh scored her third goal of the season as the lone Griffin tally in a 4-1 home opener loss to Bryn Athyn.

Blaise Vallorosi (Sr., Forward, Centenary): Blaise recorded seven total points, as she posted three goals and one assist in a 1-1 week for the Cyclones.
