Lancaster, Pa. – No. 3 seed Marymount and No. 4 Neumann were victorious in the opening round of the Atlantic East Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday, April 29th.
Both teams will now advance to the semifinal contests next week. No. 4 Neumann will travel to face top seeded Cabrini. No. 3 Marymount won at home over No. 6 Gwynedd Mercy and will travel to second seeded Marywood. Both semifinal contests will occur on Wednesday, May 3rd, times are TBD,
The two semifinal winners will advance to the Atlantic East Championship match which will be held at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 6th. The winner will earn the conference's automatic qualifier into the 2023 NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse Championship.

#3 Marymount 23, #6 Gwynedd Mercy 6 | BOX

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount women's lacrosse team took care of business on their home turf in the Atlantic East First Round on Saturday afternoon, downing the Gwynedd-Mercy University Griffins by a final tally of 23-to-6.
The Saints will look to keep the momentum going into next week in the AEC semifinals.
Notable
- Riley Love collected seven total points on two goals and five assists on the offensive end for the Saints in the win.
- Arayla Garcia won 14 draw controls in the game, adding a goal and a ground ball.
- Kaleigh Dunham notched three goals and three assists for six total points, adding a ground ball and a caused turnover.
- Taylor Chepren put up three goals and two assists for five points, causing a turnover in the process to add to her line.
- Ella Baker put three in the net for the Saints while assisting one, picking up two ground balls and causing a turnover to complete her impressive line on the day.
- Megan Edens had two goals and an assist for three points, winning two draw controls and causing a turnover in the win.
- Emily Peters scored twice with a ground ball.
- Hannah Smith earned the win in the goal for the Saints, her 12th of the season, while notching seven saves.
- Kaylee Heath and Natalia Ortiz each had a pair of goals off of the bench for the Saints.
- Brooke Bretney, Elaina Hagen, and Tess Valentino rounded out the scorers for Marymount.
How It Happened
- Edens got the scoring going for the Saints in the first minute of play, scoring unassisted to get the offense started for MU.
- After a Griffins goal, Marymount went on a 10-goal spurt to take a commanding lead.
- After a few Gwynedd-Mercy goals, the Saints went into halftime with a commanding 15-5 lead.
- It was all Marymount in the third quarter of play, as they scored six unanswered goals, capped off by Hagen finding Heath with the open look to put the score at 21-5.
- Marymount outscored the Griffins 2-1 in the final quarter of play to earn the decisive victory and advance in the postseason.

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Immaculata University 24-9 on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference First Round Action.
Lindsey Fagan scored a season-high 10 goals and two assists for 12 points to lead the Knights.
Maggie Blemings also had some season-highs with three goals and seven assists for 10 points.
Maggie Miller tallied three goals and two assists.
Brylin Adams added two goals and three assists.
Jayana Murray and
Alison Mallon each found the back of the net twice.
Cionni Warrington and
Ainsley George rounded out the scoring for Neumann.
Catriona Corrigan made nine saves in net for the win. Murray led the team with seven draw controls. Fagan grabbed five.
Goals were plentiful in the first quarter with 13 scored between the two teams. Blemings and Fagan were part of the first five goals of the game, as Neumann took an early 5-0 over the first 10 minutes. The Mighty Macs answered by scoring five of the next seven goals for a 7-5 game late in the quarter. As the horn sounded, Warrington found the back of the net for an 8-5 score after the first 15 minutes.
Immaculata scored the first goal of the second quarter before Neumann answered with six straight. The Mighty Macs rounded out the scoring in the first half for a 15-7 advantage at halftime.
The teams opened the third quarter by trading goals for a 17-9 score. The Knights scored the final seven goals of the contest, three more in the third and four in the fourth, for the 24-9 final
Neumann (12-5) advances to the semifinals on Wednesday. The Knights will face No. 1 seeded Cabrini. Time TBD.
