LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday as Marymount’s Riley Love and Marywood’s Avery Meighan earned Player of Defensive Player of the week honors respectively.

Name: Riley Love
School: Marymount

High School: St. Mary’s Ryken
Brief Outlook of Week: In the Saints first win of the season, Senior Riley Love was the leader of the Saints offense. Scoring six goals and adding two assists the senior also had the game winning goal. Love tallied eight points, while collecting two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Avery Meighan
School: Marywood
Class: First Year
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Floral Park, N.Y.
High School: Floral Park
Brief Outlook of Week: Meighan helped the Paces hold opponents to 1.5 goals per game with six ground balls, three caused turnovers, and 15 draw controls. She secured 12 draws in a 20-3 win over King’s with three ground balls and a caused turnover. In her first collegiate game, Meighan guided the Pacers to its first clean sheet since 2017 with three ground balls, two caused turnovers and three draw controls against Wilkes. She also tallied seven goals and four assists, for 11 points in the two game week.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kelsey Cardarellli (So., Midfield, Immaculata): Cardarelli had seven groundballs and three caused turnovers in Immaculata’s game against Alvernia on February 25
th.
Kayla McCabe (Gr., Midfield, Marywood): McCabe led the Pacers to a pair of opening week wins with nine goals and three assists for 12 points. She scored five goals and two assists in a 20-3 win over King’s. MccCabe produced four goals and an assist in a 18-0 shoutout over Wilkes.
