Schuster, Hughes Headline Baseball All-Conference Teams

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball All-Conference teams and major award winners on Monday, as Marywood University, Immaculata University and Cabrini University earned major honors.

Marywood's Jake Schuster was named Player of the Year after having the top batting average (.403), slugging percentage (.694) and on base percentage (.522) in the conference. The grad student had 50 hits, 10 doubles, 4 triples, 6 homeruns and 30 RBI on the season. Schuster also held a .996 fielding percentage with 218 putouts and 8 assists at first base.

The sophomore recorded a 7-1 record with 63 strikeouts. Hughes was also named the Tournament MVP of the Atlantic East Baseball Playoffs after helping the Mighty Macs defeat Marymount in the playoff opener. Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for baseball, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Hunter Hall of Immaculata University.
