Men's Lacrosse 5/11/2022 10:00:00 AM Vanaman, Hughes Headline Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday morning, as Cabrini University and Marywood University earned major honors. Mikey Vanaman was named the Player of the Year after being one of Cabrini's main sources on offense all year. Vanaman accumulated 83 points on the season with 49 goals and 34 assists. Vanaman was also named the tournament MVP of the men's lacrosse championship after scoring 4 goals in the semifinal round and having 4 goals and 5 assists in the championship game. Finally, the attacker scooped up 38 ground balls on the season. Cabrini's Matt Hughes earned Defensive Player of the Year after leading the nationally ranked squad's defensive unit. Hughes caused 20 turnovers and was a part of a defense that held every conference opponent to 8 or less goals this season. John Scibello of Marywood garnered the Rookie of the Year accolade after an impressive freshman campaign. The rookie led the conference in goals per game and racked up 84 points on 47 goals and 37 assists. Scibello also broke the Pacers' single-season scoring record in his first year. Marywood's Jon Knowles was awarded Coach of the Year after posting a 4-2 conference record and 11-6 overall record this season. Knowles led his squad to secure the #3 seed in the 2022 Atlantic East Conference playoffs. Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for men's lacrosse, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Sebastian Radovic of Marymount University. Radovic, a member of the men's lacrosse runner-up, maintains a cumulative 3.941 GPA as a health sciences major. For the entire selection criteria and process, click here.
