HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, with Marywood’s Carly Walters and Faith Meals being named winners.

Player of the Week: Carly Walters
School: Marywood
Class: Senior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Springfield, Pa.
High School: Springfield
Brief Outlook of Week: Walters scored the game-winning goal in each of the Pacers' wins this week. The senior’s 47th minute tally was the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Bryn Mawr. The Springfield, Pa., native delivered from the spot, scoring a penalty to give Marywood the lead in a 3-0 decision over Cairn. Walters has now scored in three consecutive games.

Defensive Player of the Week: Faith Meals
School: Marywood
Class: Sophomore
Position: Defender
Hometown: Fleetwood, Pa.
High School: Oley Valley
Brief Outlook of Week: Meals helped guide the Marywood defense to consecutive clean sheets. The sophomore’s defensive efforts kept Cairn to just a shot on goal in a 3-0 victory. She limited Bryn Mawr to two shots on goal and held off a late Owls threat in a 1-0 victory. Meals and company are on a hot streak, having kept opponents scoreless for the last 335 minutes. 

 

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kira Bradley, Gwynedd Mercy: Bradley scored all four Griffin goals in a 4-2 victory over Albright College on Saturday afternoon. The senior drew first blood, striking just 2:35 into the match to give Gwynedd Mercy an early 1-0 lead. After Albright briefly equalized in the 9th minute, Bradley responded with authority, tallying goals in the 18th and 33rd minutes to complete a first-half hat trick and put the Griffins up 3-1 at the break. Less than two minutes into the second half, Bradley buried her fourth of the afternoon, stretching the lead to 4-1 and effectively sealing the victory. 

Chelsea Sarmiento, Saint Elizabeth: Sarmiento was able to play a big force in the Eagles' solo game vs. York College (N.Y.), scoring three goals in the victory.
