HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the league's Woman of the Year on Thursday afternoon, naming Marywood University’s Rosalyn Page the recipient of the award.
The Woman of the Year award is presented to one female student-athlete who combined superior academic and athletic achievement during their career thus far. The successful candidate(s) must have competed in an Atlantic East-sponsored championship sport from a full-member institution. For full award criteria, see here.
Page was a four-year member of the Pacers track & field squad, competing as a thrower with a particular affinity for the shot put. She was two-time USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region selection in the event, while also being named a two-time All-Atlantic East First Team honoree. She tacked on a pair of First Team All-AEC selections in the discus to make her a four-time All-AEC First Teamer. In 2022, her performance contributed to Marywood’s AEC Outdoor Track & Field Team Championship. The Pacers also finished as the league runner-up in 2023 and 2025.
The aviation management major departs Marywood as the AEC record holder in the shot put (12.45m) and discus (40.24m), while also holding the top AEC Championship marks at 12.29m and 39.88m, respectively. She was named her team’s MVP three times.
In addition to competing in the AEC, Page was also a member of the indoor track & field and rugby teams, which are not part of the Conference’s championship offerings.
Even without her athletic accomplishments, Page’s collegiate career would be considered beyond impressive. She is a U.S. Army Distinguished Military Graduate, finishing in the top 1 percent of Army ROTC graduates. She ranked 50th out of more than 5000 and will further her training at Fort Novosel in Alabama. The Coudersport, Pa. native was also a member of the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society, the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society for Catholic Colleges, the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletics Honor Society, and two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection (2023, 2025).
Page has an incredible list of service and leadership accomplishments including being a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, serving as the undergraduate vice president of the Marywood Student Government Association (SGA), and holding leadership positions with Marywood Women’s Rugby. Her list of awards includes the Marywood Student Veteran Excellence in Leadership Award, the Marywood Dr. Shaw Servant Leadership Award, the Military Order of the World Wars ROTC Award of Merit (2023), Military Order of the World Wars ROTC Silver Medal of Merit (2024), and the Military Order of the World Wars ROTC Gold Medal of Merit (2025).
She also volunteers at Marywood Heights Retirement Home and was an Environmental Restoration and Community Rebuilding volunteer as part of Marywood Alternative Break program in Puerto Rico.
Rosalyn’s Reflection on her career at Marywood:
Throughout my time at Marywood University, I have grown into a confident, service-driven leader through my experiences as a student, athlete, cadet, and community member. Each of these roles has shaped how I approach challenges, work with others, and lead with purpose.
As a business student majoring in Aviation Management with a minor in Mandarin Chinese, I was pushed to think globally and strategically. Studying abroad and learning to navigate unfamiliar environments gave me the confidence to connect with others across cultures and step into uncertainty with curiosity instead of fear. These experiences taught me the value of adaptability and clear communication, skills that have strengthened both my academic and leadership abilities.
Athletics played a powerful role in my development. Being a member and leader on the track and field and rugby teams has built resilience and mental toughness. Whether throwing shot put or fighting through a tough match, I gained confidence in my ability to push boundaries and uplift others. Serving as a leader and team captain came with the weight of responsibility—not just to perform, but to lead by example, foster unity, and ensure that every teammate felt valued and supported. Sports taught me that true leadership isn’t about standing out, but about showing up, consistently, passionately, and with your team, putting the needs of the team before your own and working tirelessly even when nobody's watching.
Leadership opportunities on campus deepened my sense of responsibility to others. Serving as Vice President of the Student Government Association, Captain of the Track and Field team, and President of the Women’s Rugby Club, I worked to amplify student voices and create inclusive spaces where people felt seen and supported. My work with ROTC and my involvement in service, like volunteering in Puerto Rico and at a local retirement home, grounded me in values of servant leadership and community care. In ROTC and military training events, I learned how to make decisions under pressure, lead diverse teams, and earn respect through actions, not just words. These moments, from field training exercises to formal ceremonies, have prepared me to lead with confidence and humility.
What ties all of these experiences together is the confidence I’ve built from meeting new people, stepping into new roles, and overcoming new challenges. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t a title, it’s a way of being. It’s the ability to inspire trust, remain steady in the face of adversity, and always be willing to grow and listen to others. As I take the next step in my journey, I carry with me not just academic and athletic achievements, but the lessons of character, courage, and community. I know now that success is not measured by titles or awards, but by the lives we impact and the communities we build along the way.
I am ready to lead with confidence, because Marywood has helped me discover who I am and the kind of leader I strive to be.
