Marymount, Neumann advance to divisional final of 2025 Men's Tennis Championship

ASTON, Pa. - Top-seeded Marymount and third-seeded Neumann advanced to the final of the 2025 Atlantic East Men’s Tennis Championship after the divisional semifinals Friday. 

Top-seeded Marymount blanked Marywood, 4-0, while third-seed and host Neumann upended second-seed Pratt, 4-2.

The Saints took the doubles points as Eshan Degamwar and Adam Stanulis defeated Fred Kloss and Alex Ni, 6-0 at number two flight, with Gunek Singh and Nathaniel Tesfaye defeating Matt Wygonik and Leo Guzman at number three flight, 6-0. 

In singles play, Degamwar defeated Alex Corcoran, 6-0, 6-2, at number one flight; with Josemaria Torrecilla defeating Jack Biggs at number two flight, 6-1, 6-2.

The Saints clinched the match as Singh defeated Kloss at number three flight, 6-3, 6-0. 

Neumann 4, Pratt 2 (release thanks to Neumann)
The Neumann University men's tennis team, the No. 3 seed, defeated No. 2 seeded Pratt Institute 4-2 on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic East Semifinal contest.
 
The duo of Logan Gorbitz and Trevor Lodge won their match at third doubles 6-1. Daniel Bonowski and Joe Troilo battled at second doubles, but ending up falling 7-6 (7-2) and Pratt took the doubles point.
 
Everyone battled in singles action. After dropping the first set 6-4, Jason Petrin came back and won 6-4, 7-5 at first singles to take the flight. Lodge won his match at third singles 6-0, 7-5. At fifth singles, Troilo won 6-4, 6-3 and James Leuzzi took sixth singles 6-4, 6-4 to take the match. Bonowski was knotted at one set each at fourth singles when the match was called.

Neumann will be looking for its first AEC Championship, while Marymount will be seeking its fourth straight AEC Championship.
