Immaculata's Alexis Andrada and Julia Levase sweep Field Hockey Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Field Hockey weekly award winners on Tuesday, as Immaculata’s Alexis Andrada and Julia Levase sweep Player and Pitcher of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:

High School: Maple Shade
Brief Outlook of Week: Alexis Andrada scored the game-winning goal in Immaculata's 1-0 win over Albright in Saturday's season-opening game. Andrada deflected a shot from teammate Della George into the cage in the second quarter for her first collegiate goal in her first game in a Mighty Mac uniform.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Julia Levase
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Claymont, Del.
High School: Mount Pleasant
Brief Outlook of Week: Julia Levase made five saves to help Immaculata defeat Albright 1-0 in their season opener. Levase and the Immaculata defense successfully defended nine penalty corners in the game. Levase added to her IU program record total with her 11th career shutout. The win she tied the IU program record for career wins with her 16th career win.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Caley Gee (So., Goalkeeper, Neumann): Gee made 10 saves in a 1-1 opening weekend. In a 7-0 win over Eastern Mennonite, the sophomore made two saves. In a 3-2 loss to Houghton the next day, Gee made eight saves, keeping the Knights in the game til the end.

Cat Morgan (Gr., Goalkeeper, Manhattanville): Morgan stood strong against a relentless Oswego offense in Friday's season opener, making 10 saves in her 37 minutes in the cage, allowing just two goals.

Elle Smith (Sr., Midfield/Defense, Neumann): Smith tallied two goals and three assists in a 1-1 opening weekend for the Knights. In the opening 7-0 win over Eastern Mennonite, Smith opened the scoring in the 14th minute. The senior followed with a penalty stroke goal in the second quarter for a 2-0 lead. Smith added two assists in the third quarter and had four shots, three on goal. Against Houghton, Smith had an assist on Neumann's second goal as it pulled to 3-2 score. The senior had two shots, one on net, as the Knights fell just short, 3-2.

Laura Fitchner (Sr., Midfield, Gwynedd Mercy): Fitchner led Gwynedd Mercy in opening weekend action.  The senior tallied the game winning goal against Cedar Crest in the 3-0 victory.

Morgan Lawless (Sr., Goalkeeper, Gwynedd Mercy): Senior goalkeeper Morgan Lawless (Bristol, Pa.) totaled nine saves in a 1-1 week that included a 3-0 triumph over Cedar Crest College (0-2). She totaled three saves in the shutout win over the Falcons. Earlier in the week, she recorded six saves in a 4-0 opening-day loss at Misericordia University (1-0).
