Marywood's Cardillo named Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Cross Country weekly award winner on Monday, as Marywood’s Joseph Cardillo won the Runner of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Cardillo was the top non-NCAA Division I runner at Manhattan College's Jaspar Fall Invitational. He ran the 8K course in 26:05.5. Marywood finished in 11th place out of 13 teams in the seeded race, and the Pacers' were fifth out of nine teams in the unseeded standings.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jodi Johnson (Gr., Neumann): Jodi Johnson paced Neumann at the DSU Sting Invite, finishing 23rd overall, out of 56 runners. In a race that features all divisions, the graduate student took 45 seconds off of week one’s 5K, finished in a time of 17:55.7.

Sebastian DeSimone (Jr. Gwynedd Mercy): The Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's cross-country teams traveled to Stockton University to participate in the Osprey Open. Neither the men's nor women's team finished with a team score, however, junior Sebastian DeSimone finished with a new personal record in the eight-kilometer (8K) with a final time of 31:11.30 and placed 27th.
 
Justin Cal (Fy., Pratt): Justin Cai paced the Cannoneers at the Osprey Open posting a time of 29:47.1 in his first 8K race to take 11th overall.
 
Abdul Yakubu (Sr., Marymount): Abdul Yakubu led the Saints at the Blazer Blitz, hosted by Hood College, with a 25th-place finish and a time of 14:59.8.
