Three Teams Pick Up Major Awards, All Conference Announced for Men's Tennis

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Tennis All-Conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday, as Marymount, Penn State Behrend, and Immaculata each grabbed major honors.

Two Marymount teammates earned Player and Rookie of the Year honors for the Atlantic East. Nicolas Stromberg played No. 1 singles for the Saints completing an undefeated conference regular season. He teamed up with both Eshan Degamwar and Nathaniel Tesfaye where he finished 3-0 at doubles as well. the season undefeated in conference play and 15–1 overall. Stromberg picked up his third straight First Team recognition at both singles and doubles as well.

Rookie of the Year honors went to Eshan Degamwar who finished conference play 3-0 at No. 2 singles and was 13-3 overall playing No. 2 and No. 3 singles throughout the season. Degamwar teamed up with Player of the Year Stromberg at first at doubles to go 9-4 throughout the season and 2-0 in Atlantic East play.

Immaculata garnered Coaching Staff of the Year after a strong season. The Mighty Macs are led by head coach Susan Callahan and assisted by Annamarie Degnan. Immaculata closed the season on aa 4-2 run falling in the Atlantic East Divisional Round Semifinals.

Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for men's tennis, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Penn State Behrend’s  Jonathon Laier maintains a 3.83 GPA playing at No. 1 singles for the Lions.
