LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, as Marywood’s Josephine Sorce and Marywood’s Carly Walters won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Josephine Sorce
School: Marywood

Brief Outlook of Week: Sorce had a goal and three assists in a five-point performance against Immaculata. She scored in the 64th minute of the Pacers' 8-0 shutout victory. Sorce assisted Yianna Mazzella, Carly Walters and Maura Kirkpatrick goals in the regular season finale win. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Carly Walters
School: Marywood
Class: Junior
Position: Back
Hometown: Springfield, Pa
High School: Springfield
Brief Outlook of Week: Walters scored two goals en route leading the Pacers to their eight consecutive shutout in an 8-0 win over Immaculata. In the seventh minute, Walters connected on a 40-yard direct kick to the top far corner for the game-winning goal. She later scored her fifth of the season on a Josephine Sorce assist. Defensively, Walters kept the Mighty Macs to just one shot on target. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Nicole Alvardo (Fy., Marymount): In a telling 1-1 tie with Neumann on Wednesday, first-year Nicola Alvarado netted the Saints' lone goal, good to earn the tie and give the Saints the #2 seed in the AEC Tournament. She had four total shots in the match with three on target.
 
Morghan Stiles (Gr., Neumann): Morghan Stiles scored in the 20th minute to put Neumann up 1-0 in an eventual 1-1 tie at Marymount in the regular season finale. 
 
Lex Navarro (Jr., Neumann): Lex Navarro made six saves in a 1-1 tie at Marymount in the regular season finale.
