Atlantic East Conference Announces 2024 All-AEC Women's Soccer Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer All-Conference teams and major awards on Thursday, as voted upon by the coaches. Coaches nominated their players but could not vote for their own teams.
 
Marywood garnered two of the major awards, as Josephine Sorce was named as the Offensive Player of the Year, while Britlyn Higgins was named as the Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Nicole Alvarado of Marymount was named as the Rookie of the Year, while teammate Josephine DiAngelis was named as the Elite 20 Award winner.
 
Sorce, a first-team All-AEC selection at midfielder, led the conference in all major statistical categories including points (44), goals (15) and assists (14). She also led the AEC in shots on goal with 54.
 
Higgins, a first-team All-AEC selection, led a defensive unit that allowed just four goals in 20 matches and none in conference play. The Pacers have not allowed a goal in its last ten matches.
 
Alvarado, a first-team All-AEC selection, was sixth in the AEC in goals with 9, and eight in the conference in points with 21.
 
DiAngelis, a business administration major, had a perfect 4.00 GPA. The Elite 20 Award is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site between the two participating teams.
 
Coaching Staff of the Year went to Immaculata University. The Mighty Macs more than doubles their win total from the previous year, advancing to the AEC Semifinals.
