Marywood the top pick in the MXC Pre-Championship Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. - The 2024 Atlantic East Conference Men's Cross Country Championship is set for Saturday, November 2. The race will be hosted at Hudson Valley Sports Dome. 

Prior to the race, the coaches from all seven institutions voted on the 2024 Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll. Marywood was selected as the favorite with 36 points. The Pacers were picked to win their sixth consecutive Atlantic East title in men’s cross country.

The Pacers of Marywood currently sit fifth in the Mid Atlantic Regional Ranking. Senior Jack Baronski leads the team with a second all time run already this fall. Baronski will look to repeat as Atlantic East Runner after a big win in 2023. He is joined by teammate Joseph Cardillo who received weekly honors twice this season. Marywood owns nine of the top ten Atlantic East Championship times with six of them returning for the 2024 championship.

Second in the poll is Marymount with 29 points. The Saints will look to move up in the championship standings after a fourth place finish in 2023. Returning to the championship is four of the five Marymount runners from 2023. 

Immaculata lands third in the poll with 28 points including the final first place nod. The Mighty Macs are led by first year runner Samuel Domencic, who earned Runner of the Week honors twice this fall. 

At fourth is Pratt Institute with 15 points. The Cannoneers compete in their first Atlantic East Championship this weekend. Pratt first year runner Justin Cai was awarded Runner of the week in September. 

Gwynedd Mercy landed just behind in fifth with 14 points. The Griffins look to Sebastian DeSimone and a young roster for a great weekend. 

In sixth place is Centenary with 13 points. The Cylones returning an experienced squad to the Atlantic East Championship.

Closing out the polls is Neumann with 12 points. The Knights are led by graduate student Jodi Johnson.


The women's 6k race is set to begin at 11 am with the men's 8k race following at 12pm. The awards ceremony will take place at roughly 1:00 pm where the following will be recognized: Team Champion, Team Runner-Up, First-Team and Second Team All-Conference, Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year, and Elite 20 recipient.
