Neumann's Dang; Marywood's Higgins win Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, as Neumann’s Hannah Dang and Marywood’s Britlyn Higgins won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Hannah Dang
School: Neumann
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Berlin, Md.    
High School: Stephen Decatur
Brief Outlook of Week: Hannah Dang scored a goal in each game as Neumann went 2-0 in Atlantic East action. The sophomore netted the fourth goal in a 5-1 win at Pratt. She followed by scoring the first and eventual game-winning goal in a 2-0 win at Gwynedd Mercy. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Britlyn Higgins
School: Marywood
Class: Graduate Student
Position: Center Back
Hometown: Fort Worth, Texas
High School: Central York (Pa.)
Brief Outlook of Week: Higgins led Marywood to a pair of shutouts. She helped the Marywood defensive unit limit Marymount to just a pair of shots on goal and one corner kick in a scoreless draw. Higgins stymied Centenary to no shots in an 8-0 victory. The Marywood defense is responsible for five consecutive clean sheets and have held opponents scoreless through 491 minutes — fifth all-time in program history. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Mara DuFour (Fy., Marymount): First-year goalkeeper Mara Dufour showed out for the Saints across their 1-0-1 week. Allowing no goals in 139 minutes in the net across two matches, she secured the shutout against the Pacers of Marywood on the back of 10 saves in the match for a new single-game high for the first-year. She had 12 saves total throughout the week of action. 
 
Kiki Soto (So., Neumann): In her lone game of the week, Kiki Soto made four saves to pick up a 2-0 shutout win at Gwynedd Mercy. 
 
Mia Perrone (So., Immaculata): Mia Perrone scored one goal and had one assist figuring on both of Immaculata's goals in their Atlantic East Conference game vs Pratt Institute on Saturday.
 
Breanna Harkins (Sr., Marymount): In the Saints' 1-0-1 week, it was Breanna Harkins again leading the offensive charge. Scoring two goals against Gwynedd Mercy in Wednesday's 3-1 win, the senior has seven goals on the year, a new career-high in a single season. 
 
Josephine Sorce (Gr., Marywood): Sorce led the Pacers to a 1-0-1 week with two goals. She scored twice in the Pacers' 8-0 win over Centenary. Sorce became the sixth player in Marywood women's soccer program history to reach the 100 Point Club. She registered four shots on goal in the Pacers' scoreless draw with Marymount. 
 
Kat Thomsen (Jr., Pratt): Kat Thomsen scored a pair of goals in Pratt's 3-2 road victory over Immaculata on Saturday for their first Atlantic East Conference victory. The junior scored her eighth of the season in a game the Cannoneers never trailed.
