LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Tennis All-Conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday, as Marymount and Immaculata each took home recognition.
Caroline Haymans was named Player of the Year after an undefeated conference record at No. 1 singles. She also played No. 1 and No. 2 doubles throughout the season, staying unblemished in conference play. Haymans collected an impressive 11-3 record on the year.
Delaney Brown earned Rookie of the Year after going 3-1 in conference play. Her first year with the Mighty Macs proved to be a game changer for their team as she went 7-10 in total this year.
Immaculata garnered Coaching Staff of the Year after finishing with an 3-1 conference record and falling in the 2023 Atlantic East Championship. The coaching staff, consisting of Scott McTigue who is assisted by Susan Callahan, Ira Watts, and Kelly Gross.
Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for women's tennis, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Pamela Kontaras of Immaculata University. Kontaras, a member of runner-up Immaculata, maintains a cumulative 3.98 GPA. For the entire selection criteria and process, click here.
