Kidd Headlines Women's Swimming All-Conference Teams

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2022 Women's Swimming Major Award Winners and All-Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon as St. Mary's College of Maryland, Marywood University and Marymount University earned major awards.

Anna Kidd, the 2021 Rookie of the Year, placed first in every event she was a part of over the weekend. The sophomore won and broke three records in her individual events: Women's 200 IM (2:12.26), Women's 200 Free (1:57.06) and the Women's 100 Free (53.43). Kidd was also a member of four first-place relay teams: Women's 200 Free Relay, Women's 400 Medley Relay, Women's 800 Free Relay and Women's 400 Free Relay. 

Marywood freshmen Molly O'Neill and Sabrina Zieger earned Co-Rookie of the Year honors after strong performances in their first conference championship meet.

O'Neill's best finish came in the Women's 400 IM with a second-place finish. The freshman was also a part of the bronze medal winning 800 freestyle relay. 

Zieger's top individual finishes came in the Women's 500 Freestyle and the Women's 1650 Freestyle with second-place finishes. She was also a member of the the third place 800 freestyle relay team.

St. Mary's was awarded Coaching Staff of the Year, as voted on by the coaches of the conference, after winning back-to-back Atlantic East swimming titles.

Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for women's swimming, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, is Delaney Carey from Marymount University. Carey, a member of runner-up Marymount, maintains a cumulative 4.00 GPA.
