LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Soccer All-Conference teams and major awards on Thursday, as Marymount University and Neumann earned major honors. The All-Conference teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.
 
Marymount took home three major awards, as Leonardo Torres was named Player of the Year, Bayron Banegas was named Rookie of the Year, and the Marymount Coaches were tabbed Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Torres was a dominant force for the Saints throughout the season. The 2021 Rookie of the Year continued his strong offense for Marymount. The sophomore led in goals, points, shots on goal, as well as game winning goals this season. Torres finished with 43 points from 18 goals and seven assists. In conference play he tallied nine goals and three of the game winning goals.

Neumann's Alex Duopu was named Defensive Player of the Year, leading a strong Knight defense all season. He helped the Knights return to the Atlantic East Championship, which went to penalty kicks after two strong defensive showings.
 
Banegas was an unstoppable force in net for the Saints this fall, earning him Rookie of the Year honors. The first year finished with .763 goals per game, allowing just 11 goals in 16 games.  He had five shutouts this fall with two coming in conference play.
 
Marymount University was awarded Coaching Staff of the Year after posting a 16-10-1 overall record and 5-1 in conference. The Saints won their first Atlantic East Conference Title and a trip to the NCAA tournament. Marymount was led this season by Nathan Kalin and assisted by Chris Cardenas, Mynor Lopez, and William Brahmstedt.
