Neumann Women's Lacrosse Set to Take on Franklin & Marshall in NCAA Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Neumann women's lacrosse team was part of the 47-team field for the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, as announced by the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee Monday morning.

This marks the first Atlantic East Championship win for the Knights and first NCAA Tournament appearance, as they are set to take on Franklin & Marshall in first-round action on Saturday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m.

Neumann (9-8) won the Atlantic East title in dominant fashion, posting an 18-13 win against Marywood, to earn the conference's automatic bid to the tournament. Alena Catka currently sits third in the nation for draw controls, averaging 8.88 per game. The junior has tallied 62 goals this season, leading the conference with an average of 3.65 goals per game, while sitting fourth with 2.06 assists per game. 

Franklin & Marshall (10-8) won its opening round match of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, bowing out to #20 Denison in the second round. This year, the Diplomats took down #12 Gettysburg and #23 Haverford to clinch the Centennial Conference Championship.

The winner of the Neumann-Franklin & Marshall game will face Trinity (CT) (12-5), who received a first round bye coupled with round hosting rights, on Sunday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m.
