HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference Commissioner Rebecca Mullen is pleased to announce the hiring of Tyler Ingle as the league’s Assistant Commissioner.
As Assistant Commissioner, Ingle will be responsible for many aspects of conference operations, including administration of the league’s weekly and postseason awards programs, maintenance of historical and statistical records, and oversight of conference championships.
“I am excited to have Tyler join the staff. Throughout the interview process his experience in both professional and collegiate communications and championships involvement stood out. He will be a great addition to the Atlantic East,” said Mullen.
Ingle brings a strong resume, having vast experience in both the professional and collegiate sports worlds. Most recently, he served as a Communications Assistant at the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference (NEC). In his position, Ingle served as the primary media relations contact for several sports, including women’s soccer, cross country, men’s lacrosse, swimming and diving and golf. He also played a central role in implementing the NEC's social media strategy, updating record books, hosting podcasts, providing media support at NEC championships, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the league office.
Prior to his time at the NEC, Ingle served as the Content & Communications Manager for Loudoun United, a United Soccer League (USL) club team based in Leesburg, Va. As part of his duties, he managed and oversaw all aspects of the club's social media accounts, from content creation to management, driving a 21 percent increase in social media followers, the highest in the USL. He was also responsible for producing press release packages, the most notable being after Riley Bidois was named a part of the 2024 Paris Olympics squad for his home country of New Zealand. He also developed game notes and game previews/recaps, for both local and national distribution. Additionally, Ingle played a pivotal role in media relations, expanding earned media and developing new partnerships, including one with CBS Sports.
Ingle began his professional career as a Communications Associate with the Washington Spirit of the NWSL during the 2022 season. His time was highlighted by a press release package surrounding Trinity Rodman’s Ballon d’Or Féminin Finalist nomination. He also produced several other press releases, game previews and recaps, and assisted in the management of the team's social media platforms and content creation. Ingle additionally planned and executed marketing campaigns, CSR projects, and community outreach events.
Over the past three years, Ingle has also contributed as a freelance writer for What's Up Media, a print and digital magazine published across the Chesapeake Bay region. In addition, he has served as a Staff Writer with the Annapolis Blues, in charge of game recaps, and serves as the main point of contact between the club and league.
Ingle’s collegiate athletic career included playing one year of soccer at Ithaca College before becoming a two-year starting goalkeeper at Ursinus, where he served as the 2021 team captain. During his time at Ursinus, he posted a 1.38 GAA, received multiple player of the week honors, and earned a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. While pursuing his master’s degree at Carthage, he gained valuable experience as a graduate assistant by taking charge of the goalkeepers, assisting in recruiting, supporting team operations, and conducting community outreach.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Ingle is a passionate advocate for mental health. While at Ursinus, he founded a chapter of The Hidden Opponent, a student-athlete mental health organization, and shared his personal journey, which has been featured by Medium alongside prominent athletes like Simone Biles, Michael Phelps and Naomi Osaka.
Ingle earned his Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications from UMBC in 2023, following study at Ursinus College and Ithaca College. He also completed his Master of Science in Business Sport Management from Carthage College in December of 2024. Ingle began his duties with the conference this week.
