Marywood Favorited to Win Field Hockey Championship

Haddonfield. N.J. – Marywood University picked to repeat as Atlantic East Field Hockey Champion as voted on by the Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The Pacers took four first place votes for 16 total points. Marywood will look to build on the record breaking year in 2024 with 80 goals. The Pacers are led by the reigning NFHCA Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year. Offensively Marywood will look to 2024 AEC First team forwards Dariane Jones and Lany Straub.  

Landing second was Immaculata with the final first place vote and 12 overall points. The reigning Rookie of the Year, Alexis Andrada will look to help the Mighty Macs return to the championship game.  

Tied for third in the poll was Gwynedd Mercy and Neumann, while Manhattanville closed out the poll with 4 points. 

Gwynedd Mercy, Marywood and Neumann begin the regular season on Friday, August 29th. Immaculata plays their first game on Saturday, August 30th. Manhattanville opens the season at home on Tuesday, September 2nd. Conference play begins on October 11th with Gwynedd Mercy hosting Marywood and Neumann hosting Manhattanville.  

The 2025 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with the semifinal round on Saturday, November 1st and the championship on Saturday, November 8th.
