LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Soccer weekly award winners on Monday, as Pratt’s Omri Hadad and Centenary’s Kevin Velasquez-Mejia won Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Omri Hadad
School: Pratt

Brief Outlook of Week: Omri Hadad finished with two goals and an assist to help Pratt go unbeaten on the week with a 1-0-1 mark. On Tuesday against CCNY, the rookie scored his first two collegiate goals leading the Cannoneers to a 2-2 tie with CCNY. On Friday, he assisted on the opening goal as Pratt never trailed in a 2-1 triumph over borough foes Brooklyn College.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Kevin Velasquez-Mejia
School: Centenary
Class: Junior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: New Brunswick, N.J.
High School: New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology
Brief Outlook of Week: The Junior, posted a 0-0-1 record on the week after earning his third shutout of the season. On the week, the goalkeeper recorded ten saves against twenty-three total shots (10 on goal). Velasquez-Mejia currently leads the conference in all goalie categories.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Matthew Kirkpatrick (Sr., Immaculata): Matthew Kirkpatrick had a goal and an assist in Immaculata's 2-1 last minute win over previously undefeated Albright on September 17th. Kirkpatrick opened the scoring in the game's 27th minute to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead. With the game tied entering the game's 90th minute, Kirkpatrick played a perfect cross into the box for the touch in by Jonathan Olaleye for the game winning goal. Kirkpatrick generated two shots in Immaculata's game against Susquehanna or September 21st.
 
Luke O’Donnell (So., Gwynedd Mercy): O'Donnell took three shots in Gwynedd Mercy University's 1-0 loss at Delaware Valley University (Sept. 18) before having a career day in the Griffins' 2-1 win over the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 21). Against the Patriots, he buried a tally in the 35th minute (1-0, 34:29) and set-up junior midfielder C.J. Clyde (Southampton, Pa.) for the game-winner in the 51st minute (50:09).
 
Erik Shoetter-Rojas (So., Marymount): Shoetter-Rojas scored a pair of goals in Marymount's 4-4 tie at Stevenson on Wednesday. For the season, the sophomore now boasts four goals and four assists for a total of 12 points.
 
John Wilhelm (Sr., Immaculata): John Wilhelm made seven saves to help Immaculata defeat previously undefeated Albright 2-1 on September 17th. Wilhelm helped keep the game tied at 1-1 with four saves in the second half, to help the Mighty Macs earn the 2-1 win on the road with the game winner being scored in the 90th minute.
 
Joe Romano (Jr., Gwynedd Mercy): Romano totaled 15 saves in a 1-1 week. He totaled 11 saves in a tight 1-0 loss at Delaware Valley University (Sept. 18), before recording four saves in Gwynedd Mercy University's 2-1 victory over the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 21).
 
Carter Tillman (Sr., Pratt): Carter Tillman helped anchor Pratt's unbeaten week picking up the win and tie in goal. He made three saves in 45 minutes of action in a draw with CCNY and stopped two shots in a scoreless half against Brooklyn.
 
Daniel Yi (Jr., Marymount): Yi recorded his first assist of the season on what proved to be the game-tying goal in a 4-4 battle against Stevenson on Wednesday. He also played a role as a starting defender in a 0-0 tie against Randolph on Saturday as the Saints held the WildCats to just two shots on goal.
