Eight Schools Earn Winter and Spring Team GPA Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the winning squads for the Winter and Spring Team Academic Awards on Tuesday, as eight institutions garnered awards.

The Team Academic honor is awarded to the institution's team that had the top GPA in its respective sport through the semester(s) it played in. The GPA is calculated for each season as follows:
  • Fall Season Teams (WSOC, MSOC, WVB, FH, WXC, MXC, WGOLF): Fall Semester Grades
  • Winter Season Teams (WBB, MBB, WSWIM, MSWIM): Cumulative of Fall and Spring Semester Grades
  • Spring Season Teams (MLAX, WLAX, BB, SB, MGOLF, MT&F, WT&F, MTEN, WTEN): Spring Semester Grades
Cabrini, Immaculata, and Marywood each secure three winter and spring team academic honors. The Cavaliers and Pacers tallied five honors across the 2023-24 academic year to secure top honors. The Cabrini Women’s Swim team had the overall top GPA with a 4.00. On the men’s side top GPA honors for the winter/spring went to Neumann’s Men’s Tennis team at a 3.71.

Marywood earned a share of the second straight team GPA winners. The Pacers were top in women’s tennis, men’s track and field, men’s basketball, men’s cross country, and women’s golf. Cabrini landed top honors in men’s and women’s swimming, softball, field hockey and women’s soccer. Immaculata finished with four wins including men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s basketball, and women’s track and field. Neumann was named top team GPA in men’s tennis, men’s golf, and women’s volleyball. Centenary baseball and women’s cross country had the top GPAs. Gwynedd Mercy, Marymount, and Pratt each won one top team GPA in women’s lacrosse, women’s flag football, and men’s volleyball respectively.

Overall, all seven conference institutions and one associate member were recognized with a team honor. Cabrini had the top overall team GPA with a 4.0 for the women’s swim team.

  • Women’s Basketball: Immaculata 3.57

  • Softball: Cabrini 3.88
  • Men’s Golf: Neumann 3.61
  • Women’s Flag Football: Marymount 3.703
  • Men’s Tennis: Neumann 3.71
  • Women’s Tennis: Marywood 3.62
  • Men’s Volleyball: Pratt 3.249
  • Men’s Lacrosse: Immaculata 3.33
  • Women’s Lacrosse: Gwynedd Mercy 3.67
  • Men’s Track & Field: Marywood 3.3
  • Women’s Track & Field: Immaculata 3.52

FALL TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS:
  • Field Hockey: Cabrini, 3.74
  • Men's Cross Country: Marywood, 3.32
  • Women's Cross Country: Centenary 3.71
  • Women's Golf: Marywood, 3.75
  • Men's Soccer: Immaculata 3.27
  • Women's Soccer: Cabrini, 3.61
  • Women's Volleyball: Neumann, 3.61
