Cabrini's Little and Gallagher Highlight Women's Lacrosse All Conference Teams

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday morning, as Cabrini and Marywood collect major awards.

Repeating as Atlantic East Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year is Olivia Little. The senior topped the conference with an average of 6.79 points per game and 129 points from 73 goals and 56 assists. Little led the Cavaliers to their fourth straight Atlantic East Title adding 4.84 draw controls and 1.63 caused turnover per games.   

Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Caroline Gallagher of Cabrini. The defender ended the season with 2.68 caused turnovers across 19 games for 51 total on the season. Gallagher averaged 3 groundballs per game to help lead the defense that allowed just 3.66 goals per game in conference play to lead the league by over three goals.

Marywood’s Avery Meighan was named Rookie of the Year after leading the Pacers to the conference title game. The first year finished seventh in goals per game with three from 57 goals across 19 games. She was also seventh overall with 4.16 points per game, while sitting third with 3.5 groundballs per game in conference play.  

Cabrini coaching staff were awarded Coaching Staff of the year for the second year in a row. They are led by Jackie Neary and assisted by Macaul Mellor, Julie Cross, Melissa Michels, Jamie O'Hanlon, Coley Ricci and Sean Ralph. The team went 14-5 with an undefeated conference record and their fourth straight Atlantic East Title. The Cavaliers will continue with NCAA Tournament Play starting this Saturday, May 13th against Roger Williams hosted by Wesleyan University.  

Lastly, the Atlantic East Elite 20 award winner for women's lacrosse, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's 20 team championships, was awarded to Abbey Fenton of Cabrini University. Fenton maintains a cumulative 4.0 GPA in her first three years at Cabrini. For the entire selection criteria and process, click here.
