Cross Country Major Awards Announced

Lancaster, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2023 Cross Country major award winners and All-Conference teams on Friday. The top 14 finishers at the conference championship made up the all-conference squads.

Jack Baronski was named Runner of the Year after an Atlantic East Meet record time of 26:43.5. The junior led the Marywood team to a first place team finish. Teammate Ben Devine earned Rookie of the Year accolade with a third place overall finish and a time of 26:56.5. Baronski and Devine were joined by 11 other Marywood teammates on the Atlantic East All Conference teams. The final All Conference member was from the runner up Immaculata.

On the Women’s side Immaculata first year, Aubrey Donahue was named Runner and Rookie of the Year. She crossed at 24:45.3 to lead the Mighty Macs. The women’s all conference teams featured members of five different teams. Marywood had the most with five with Gwynedd Mercy and Marymount naming four to the All-Conference Teams.

Coaching Staff of the Year for both the men’s and women’s teams went to the coaching staff at Marywood with their incredible finishes.
 
The Atlantic East Elite 20 Award is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the final site of the championship and finishing in the top two teams. This year's award winner for men’s cross country is Marywood’s Joseph Cardillo who has a 4.0 in Mathematics. On the women’s side there was a tie between Marywood’s Zoe Badner and Marymount’s Ariana Grant who both maintain a 4.0. 

The full all-conference teams are listed below. Finishers 1-7 earned first-team while 8-14 earned second-team.
