Lancaster, P.a. - Atlantic East Conference Commissioner Jessica Huntley is proud to announce that Brooke Overly will be promoted to Assistant Commissioner of the conference.
Overly had previously served as an administrative intern for the conference during the 2020-21 school year and was recently elevated to full-time status after finishing graduate school.
As an intern, Overly assisted with the administration of end-of-season tournaments and championships, took on sports information responsibilities, aided with website content management and handled weekly and end-of-season awards.
"Brooke came to us in Fall 2020 eager to volunteer in the conference office and learn all about the inner-workings of conference life. She quickly adapted in an extremely challenging time and has grown exponentially over the past year,” Huntley said. “Through Brooke's hardwork and dedication to the Atlantic East Conference throughout the year, she has earned this promotion to Assistant Commissioner. I am thrilled to have her remain with the Atlantic East and know she will do great things."
Overly just recently graduated with her Master’s degree in Sport Business from Temple University in May. During her two years, she served as the Graduate Extern for Marketing and Communications of Temple’s School of Sport, Tourism & Hospitality Management (STHM). Overly created and scheduled all content for STHM’s social media platforms, aided with website maintenance and upkeep and also managed the school’s merchandise purchasing with outside vendors.
In addition to her graduate externship, Overly also worked in Temple’s Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes. Initially serving as an academic mentor for freshmen football players, Overly eventually specialized in career development and mapping for student-athletes. She also spent time working within Temple’s Athletic Department as a fundraising intern and Penn Athletics as a marketing volunteer for games and events.
Prior to graduate school, Overly attended Ursinus College for her undergraduate studies in the Centennial Conference, where Huntley previously served as the Associate Executive Director. As a four-year member of the field hockey team, Overly won three conference championships as a First Team All-Conference and All-Region player. She was also a 4x NFHCA academic award winner. Off the field, Overly worked in the Sports Information Department and served as a coordinator of intramural athletics on campus.
The Atlantic East Conference was awarded the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Strategic Matching Grant, which partially funds the Assistant Commissioner role.
