LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced the second-ever Sportsmanship Team of the Year award on Wednesday afternoon an award voted on by the athletic directors of the seven league institutions, naming Wesley College men’s golf as the winner.

The Sportsmanship Team of the Year award is given to a team that positively affected the game environment and exhibited acts and/or behaviors based on values, respect and integrity.

This year, the Atlantic East is recognizing the Wolverines for their community service to Code Purple. Code Purple is a community service outreach that houses and feeds the homeless when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. The Presbyterian Church of Dover needed assistance in feeding homeless men on a Saturday night and due to the extreme cold, they were housing 40 men, plus overnight volunteers. The men’s golf team cooked, served and cleaned up meals for the guests spending several hours in Dover to assist those in the community.

The Atlantic East recognizes the Wolverines’ commitment to serving the community and is proud to honor the men’s golf program as the 2019-20 Sportsmanship Team of the Year recipient.
