Atlantic East Cancels 2020 Spring Season and Championships

Lancaster, Pa. – With the safety and well-being of our students and campus communities being paramount, and the rapid and evolving nature of COVID 19, the Atlantic East Conference, with unanimous support from the Presidents Council, made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining 2020 spring season and championships, effectively immediately.

We recognize the disappointment that this decision will bring to our student-athletes, families and fans; however, with the new CDC recommendations and ever-changing local, state and national restrictions, we felt it was in the best interest of our student-athletes, campus support staff and local communities.

NCAA cancels remaining winter and spring championships

The Division III Administrative Committee took the following actions, effective immediately, on behalf of the Division III Management and Presidents Councils. Student-athlete seasons of participation and eligibility: Approved a blanket waiver for all student-athletes participating in spring sports as follows: (a) Waive the use of a season of participation for all student-athletes in spring sports.  If an institution continues or re-starts its season, this relief would still exist; and (b) Waive the use of the spring semester towards their limit of 10 semesters/15 quarters, regardless of whether they used a season.
