Cameron, Mitchell Named Men's Basketball Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon, as Wesley College's Brian Cameron earned his second Player of the Week honor of the season and Neumann University's Anthony Mitchell grabbed his first career Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Cameron remained hot in the Wolverines' two games this past week, dropping in 54 points on 53-percent shooting, while adding 12 assists, nine rebounds, and five steals. In their win over Centenary, he dropped in 27 points and missed a double-double by just two assists. He added three steals and four rebounds. He followed it up with another 27-point performance against Misericordia on Saturday, going 11-for-18 from the floor, and finishing his stat line with four assists, five rebounds, and two steals.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Anthony Mitchell
School: Neumann University
Class: Freshman
Position: Guard
Hometown: Glassboro, N.J.
High School: Glassboro
Brief Outlook of Week: Mitchell averaged 18 points and 9.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Knights. Defensively, he totaled 28 rebounds, three blocks and two steals across the three games. He posted a double-double in the opening contest against Bryn Athyn, leading the way with 20 points. He narrowly missed two more double-doubles in the Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown Tournament over the weekend with eight and nine rebounds against Utica and Keuka, in that order, while he added 16 and 18 points in the two games.  With his efforts, he was named to the All-Tournament team.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jack DeGroot (Marywood / Junior / Guard): DeGroot led the Pacers to a 1-0 week by scoring a game-high 27 points in a thrilling 83-82 win over Keystone College. The Pacers' Sunday game at King's was postponed due to inclement weather. In the one-point win over Keystone, Marywood's fourth game in a row decided by four-points or less (where Marywood went 3-1), DeGroot went 9-of-15 from the field, hit two three pointers and was 7 of 10 from the free throw line. He added four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the victory.

Rich Dunham (Gwynedd Mercy / Senior / Guard): Dunham led the Griffins with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting knocking down three triples while adding three assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals.

Steve Etienne (Marymount / Sophomore / Guard): Etienne led Marymount to a win in its only win of the week, 75-50, over St. Mary's (Md.). Etienne scored a game-high 18 points, while adding eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Six of his rebounds were on the offensive end. He finished the game 8-for-8 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
