ARLINGTON, Va. - The Atlantic East Conference Women's Volleyball Champion title remained Marymount University on Saturday afternoon, topping second-seeded Neumann University, 3-0, to go back-to-back as league tournament victors.

Consistency in the first two sets for the Saints had them taking set one, 25-16, and set two, 25-14, behind .258 hitting percentages with a total of 24 kills.

The third set played much more even between the two squads, with Neumann having more swings with 47 and knocking in 15 kills over the 14 by Marymount. Behind that effort was Melanie Malseed with six kills and Jess Charlier with four.

However, the Saints, who were trailing late in the set, 19-16, rallied back with a 9-2 run to retake the lead and finish the match, 25-21.

Marymount's Myah Cordrey, who finished with a match-high 13 kills on a .435 hitting percentage, registered six kills in the third set with just one error.

With a 29-assist effort in the match and commanding an offense that only dropped one set through the tournament and all conference season, Saints' Maggie Viniard was tabbed the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
