Marywood's Youngman, Gwynedd Mercy's Hopkins tabbed Women's Soccer weekly honorees

LANCASTER, Pa. - Marywood's Julie Youngman was tabbed Atlantic East Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Gwynedd Mercy's Kailey Hopkins earned Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Offensive Player of the Week:

Brief Outlook of Week: Youngman scored four goals over two games in a 2-0 week for the Pacers. Against Keystone, she had the first and last goal in a 4-1 win. Youngman scored twice in opening 1:54 against Clarks Summit in a 3-0 victory. During the Keystone victory, she recorded her 100th career point, as she now ranks third all-time with 111 points, just two-points shy of the second-place position.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Kailey Hopkins
School: Gwynedd Mercy University
Class: Senior
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Warminster, Pa.
High School: William Tennent
Brief Outlook of Week: Hopkins had a stand-out performance, tying a career high with 13 saves in their game against Alvernia. The tie extends their unbeaten streak to five games. She also recorded three saves for her third shutout on the season against Bryn Mawr. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Karen Reyes (Marymount / Junior / Forward): Reyes led the Marymount offense for the week in which the Saints won their first two games of the season. Reyes tallied a hat trick in the team's 12-0 win over Christendom College on Wednesday. She also added an assist to finish with seven points. Reyes was able to put eight of her 14 shots on the week for a .571 shot-on-goal percentage.

Taylor Garman (Neumann / Senior / Midfielder): Garman netted a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Bryn Athyn in a 2-0 week for the Knights. The senior scored the first two goals of the game, including the eventual game-winner, in the first 12 minutes of the contest. Garman capped her hat trick in the 81st minute of the contest.

Emily Caldarelli (Wesley / Sophomore / Forward): Caldarelli notched two goals and two assists in Wesley's split of two games last week. Caldarelli netted a pair of goals and an assist in Wesley's 5-2 win over Rosemont. She also assisted Megan Shacklock's first goal against Goucher on Tuesday.
